Sean Caffey, MD

Chairman, CEO and Co-Founder

Sean Caffey has been CEO of Replenish, Inc. since co-founding the company in August 2007. He has over ten years of experience with medical device and drug delivery startup companies in ophthalmology and neurosciences. He holds an MBA from USC Marshall School of Business and MD from USC Keck School of Medicine. Sean previously worked as the Director of Business Development at the USC / Caltech Engineering Research Center for Biomimetic MicroElectronic Systems (BMES) where he recruited 18 medical and pharma companies to join the USC Medical School's BMES center since 2003. While on staff at the USC Keck School of Medicine and the USC Department of Biomedical Engineering, he was a part time employee for the US Army’s Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center (TATRC) where he represented the US Department of Defense to select and assist in commercializing innovative biomedical technologies for troops abroad.




Fukang Jiang has an academic background in electrical engineering and physics and extensive professional experience in developing micromachining technologies. Dr. Jiang’s diverse technical skills include over 17 years of MEMS design, fabrication and testing experience, including hands-on surface micromachining & IC fabrication technologies (thin film deposition and processing including metal evaporation, electroplating, parylene, LPCVD of silicon nitride, polysilicon and silicon dioxide; diffusion; ion implantation; photolithography; dry etchings including plasma etching and reactive ion etching (RIE) and DRIE; isotropic wet etchings; polyimide processing). Dr. Jiang has eight selected peer-reviewed publications or manuscripts and six patents to his name.

Mark Humayun


Mark Humayun is a world-renowned inventor; Director of a National Science Foundation (NSF) sponsored Engineering Research Center at the University of Southern California (USC) and Caltech for biomimetic devices (microelectronic devices that interface in humans, http://bmes-erc.usc.edu) and member of National Academies Institute of Medicine.  Dr. Humayun has nearly 200 peer reviewed publications and 100 patents. Dr. Humayun has a long track record of commercializing technologies including Second Sight, Neovista, and InnoRx.

Yu-Chong Tai


Yu-Chong Tai is the Chairman of Electrical Engineering and a Professor of Electrical and Bioengineering Engineering at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). He has more than 200 technical articles in the field and is the pioneer for MEMS and Biomes field at Berkeley and Caltech.
